Futuristic Appliances For Your Home

Posted In : Future

As a child, I was a huge fan of “The Jetsons” and their futuristic lifestyle.  I always envisioned a house way up in the sky, a wise cracking robotic maid, flying cars.  But mostly, I was looking forward to the day that we would have all the futuristic gadgets at our disposal.  Though we may be still pretty far from flying cars and a robot maid named Rosie, here are some futuristic gadgets that will make us feel like the Jetsons.

Gota Dishwasher

Designed by a company called Gota and resembling something out of the old “Space Invaders” videogame, the small dishwasher will be able to fit on any tabletop.  The dishwasher will conserve water by recycling pre-wash water for use in later cycles.  This is done by steaming the dishes in pre-wash and then using its own recycling method to use up the residual water from the steam.  And with a body made out of ABS polycarbonate

Not only will the kitchens of the future have all the shiny bells and whistles that will resemble something out of space, they will also be more mobile.  Designed in Japan, which happens to have the highest cost per square foot of real estate, this kitchen makes the most out of a small space.  There is an option where you can raise a table to conceal the kitchen and give you a fine dining experience.  There is plenty of space for kitchen items, three electric cooking rings, and a circular sink.    And to top it off, the Ino comes studded with the Swarovski crystals and a very elaborate etched surface.  The future looks bright indeed.

Kitchen Workstation

For the geeks in all of us, the Kitchen Workstation has a slot for a laptop so that you can look up online recipes or go on an online chat while you cook.  There are different wood designs from wild cherry, walnut, apple and plum

Intelligent Refrigerators

It’s like having a personal food assistant.  This fridge knows exactly what it has inside and is wired to send text messages when you need something.   The fridge will have this inventory via the barcode scanner.   As you put stuff inside, the barcode scanner will record all the items in a database.  It will then start to search through a recipe database to suggest what you can prepare for dinner.  This is also very environmentally friendly, no longer will there be a need to endlessly search through the refrigerator while keeping the door open.

Apple Licensed Appliances

Finally, do you want a futuristic kitchen?  Of course there’s an app for that.  The iGorenje app for the iPod Touch and iPhone will enable you to control the Gorenje line of appliances.  There will be a home server that controls the Gorenje Fridge, washing machine, and oven, which means that any web device in your home’s Wi-Fi network.   You can control the temperature settings from your iPhone and iPod touch.  The Gorenje oven can be programmed to bake a cake according to a recipe on the database, meaning that the oven will cook at the right temperature and proper length of time as per stated on the recipe.
