Trona is a naturally occurring sodium carbonate (soda ash) found in huge quantities in southwestern Wyoming USA. The development of this mineral deposit is the basis for the worldwide position of American soda ash. The community of Wyoming soda ash producing companies has been affectionately called the "Trona Patch" by its employees and industry developers for many years. The Trona Patch Times was first published to provide a news source about this community.
